$10-$15 Commissions

It’s close to the end of the year and, unfortunately, some unforeseen college expenses have popped up. Ones that I absolutely have to pay or risk failing a class.

I need to repurchase an access code to an online program, but my college bookstore charges at 3x the price it costs to buy it directly from the website. I want to try to buy it online to avoid the price gouge, but I need at least $80. I have to make the money before the end of this month since that is when my current access expires (I bought it the start of the semester but it is 2-weeks short).

To make this money, I am doing commissions for $10-$15 each.

14. What languages do they speak?

Skew is primarily proficient in Mid-Planer, since that is his native language. He knows quite a bit of English, but he wouldn’t consider himself fluent in it.

Flats can only speak English. He used to know Second-Planer but that was when he was very young. Once he was relocated to the First Plane and was taught English he started losing his grip on his native language very quickly.

Jack can speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian. During his years working for some really shady people he was mostly stationed in areas that spoke those languages. Learning a new language comes well to him but he never saw the point in learning anything else. Dolls have no language to themselves because they are a solitary race.

24. Are they close to anyone specific in the family?

Skew is very close to both of his parents. He loves them dearly and although they have no idea on what their son is up to, they are both proud of him and what he has grown into. There is some tension, though, because both parents side with Eryn and Gobryanian worship while Skew is very much against it.

Flat is distant to his adoptive human mother. He loves her very much, and understands that she was trying her best, but they haven’t been in close contact for years. Something deeply troubling happened between them, so Flats is a little scared to reach out to her. If he stopped being a coward about it, though, I can see him and her being very close. As for his Second Planer family, he has a sister that has been waiting FOREVER to see him again and would definitely try to be BFFs with him if he ever went back to the Second Plane.

Jack has no family. Dolls don’t have relatives and consider all other dolls to be rivals for survival. Jack has had multiple partners and maybe (1) close past friend, though.

16. Their favorite comfort food?

When stressed, Flats likes to eat spicy things. Nothing really specific, though, just really anything he can afford/find at the moment. He uses it to help numb whatever is bothering him and to give him something else to focus on. As you can guess, his spice tolerance is pretty high!

40. Have they ever had a near-death experience?

Oh boy, CONSTANTLY. Him and Jack end up getting caught in a lot of nasty situations with the worst type of people. Sometimes it’s their fault, sometimes it’s not; but Flats has become desensitized to the possibility of being killed. He’s too tired to be worried about it anymore.

44. What is the first thing they do when they wake up?

Flats always checks on Jack first after he wakes up. Despite all the shenanigans he gets him into, Flats considers Jack to be his best friend. He has to make sure Jack is doing alright and that he didn’t bring any trouble home while he was sleeping (there was an incident). If Jack is already up, the two get ready for the day together and go over their plans for the day!

Drew the gods Eryn and Gobryah (plus a Gobryan priest) during my scholarship retreat.

Eryn is the eldest god and the adoptive parent of Colum. Gobryah is Colum’s biological parent, but they abadoned Colum after Eryn killed Colum’s birthmother. It’s a very controversial family tree, and many Columists have come to question if both gods should be worshipped alongside Colum in Columism.
